 
Fume Cupboard Testing Services
All Fume Cupboards Are Required to be tested at least annually - See Australian Standard AS2243.8-2006
The items marked with * are included in our standard testing the others need to be carried out by the operator or by us as “Extended Maintenance”
* Test the control system for overall compliance with AS2243.8-2006.
* Check the room “make-up air” balance.
* Check condition of the services to the fume cupboard and ensure that all are properly identified and operational.
* Check condition and satisfactory operation of the fume cupboard control system.
* Check that the scrubber, wash-down facility or air cleaning device (if fitted) is functioning efficiently.
* Conduct Smoke Test
* Conduct Velocity Test
* Attach a self-adhesive label to the fume cupboard showing the inspection date, name of inspector and the fume cupboard identity name or number, overall test result (pass or fail) and the date the next inspection is due.
Remove fume cupboard baffles and clean all surfaces.
Wash the entire interior surface of the fume chamber with dilute detergent solution and repair defects as necessary.
Check operation of the automatic isolator by simulating inadequate airflow condition to the fume cupboard if possible and safe to do so.
Inspect the exhaust fan including motor, drives and bearings. Lubricate and adjust where appropriate.
Check stability and condition of the fan discharge stack.
Inspect condition of the exhaust ducting (where possible) and ensure that any drain points are clear.
